Editorial Note from the Editor-In-Chief
Inaugural Issue of the Journal of Veterinary Practice and Health (JVPH)

Distinguished guests, esteemed colleagues, members of the scientific community, ladies and gentlemen,

It is with great professional satisfaction that I welcome you to the release of the inaugural issue of the Journal of Veterinary Practice and Health. The launch of this journal represents an important milestone in our collective efforts to advance evidence-based veterinary medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, and public health through high-quality scientific communication.

JVPH was established in response to the increasing complexity of challenges facing animal health and health systems globally. Veterinary science now extends well beyond clinical practice to encompass pharmaceutical research, vaccine development, disease prevention, food safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and One Health approaches that integrate animal, human, and environmental health. Despite significant scientific advances, the translation of research findings into effective practice and policy remains a critical challenge. This journal seeks to address that gap.

The mission of JVPH is grounded in three fundamental pillars.

First, scientific rigor and methodological excellence:

The journal is committed to maintaining a robust, transparent, and impartial peer-review process in line with internationally recognized ethical and editorial standards. We welcome original research, systematic reviews, and technical reports in veterinary clinical sciences, pharmaceutical development, vaccinology, molecular diagnostics, and related disciplines that contribute meaningfully to scientific advancement.

Second, translational relevance and impact:

Priority is given to research that demonstrates clear applicability to veterinary practice and public health. This includes studies on drug discovery and evaluation, vaccine design and efficacy, regulatory science, pharmacovigilance, and strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance, all of which are essential for improving disease prevention, therapeutic outcomes, and health system resilience.

Third, international collaboration and scientific dialogue:

JVPH aspires to serve as an inclusive global platform that brings together veterinarians, pharmaceutical scientists, vaccine researchers, epidemiologists, and policymakers. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, the journal aims to support capacity development and innovation across diverse geographic and institutional contexts.

The articles presented in this first issue reflect the breadth and interdisciplinary nature of the journal’s scope, highlighting the critical role of veterinary sciences and one health in addressing current and emerging animal and public health challenges.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the authors who entrusted their work to a new journal, and to the reviewers whose expertise and commitment ensured the scientific quality of this inaugural issue. I also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Editorial Board and advisory members, whose guidance and adherence to high editorial standards were instrumental in establishing the journal.

As Editor-in-Chief, I view the Journal of Veterinary Practice and Health as a scholarly forum dedicated to advancing science, informing practice, and supporting policy development. Its success will be measured by the quality, relevance, and impact of the research it disseminates, and by its contribution to improving animal health, public health, and sustainable veterinary systems.

I invite the scientific community to engage actively with JVPH—as authors, reviewers, readers, and partners-in shaping a journal committed to excellence, integrity, and scientific impact.

Thank you for your attention and for joining us at the beginning of this important scientific endeavor.
